Lot 37. Observations on the origin and progress of chess, by Duncan Forbes. London 1855. 50 pages. L/N 205. Half-bound in brown leather with marbled boards and gilt spine. Spine slightly rubbed. A small part of the top of the title page (probably with a part of the dedication) is missing, light foxing to a few pages, otherwise fine. A presentation copy, from the Rimington Wilson Collection.
