Description: Lot 11. Chess Eccentricities, by Major George Hope Verney. London 1885. xiv + 196 pages. L/N 4792. This book gives the rules and examples if chess for three and more players, with additional pieces such as the Rhinocerous, the Stag, etc. Bound in cloth. The free endpaper and half-title are split at hinge, slightly shaken, one page ragged at the edge, otherwise very good. Very colourful frontis and title-page, scarce.
