The Chess Base website is fast becoming one of the most interesting Web chess resources. It is updated daily and has lots of good stories. The latest include the heavy boxers' fight in Los Angeles. Both the Champion Lennox Lewis and the Challenger Vitaly Klitschko claimed to be keen chess players!

The Chess Base website also has a pretty detailed tournament calendar and numerous links to Anand's opinions of the world of chess, given to various Indian newspapers. Don't forget, Anand has been voted sportsmen of 2002 in India. He is hugely popular in that country - I could see that during my two visits to India: it was hard to open a newspaper without seeing his photo! Not that I mind...

Apparently, Vishy is unhappy with the current situation in the professional chess, which he calls 'a mess'. But he believes that things will get better in a year or so.
